Scott Morris

Executive Vice President, People

As Executive Vice President of People, Scott Morris is charged with architecting the company’s culture, evangelizing the employment brand, and helping executives and managers build the workforce of the future. Scott has more than 20 years of management and leadership experience across corporate, government, and higher education sectors.

Prior to joining the team at SU, Scott was the Chief HR Officer at both the University of Colorado Boulder, and the Georgia Institute of Technology (“Georgia Tech”). He served in multiple roles at the SUNY University at Buffalo in New York, including as executive director for strategic planning, and associate vice president for human resources. Scott co-founded AVCOR, a professional services firm which specialized in business strategy, organizational development, and public sector transformation. Across a five period, the firm generated a 4x return on investment for their clients.

Scott holds a degree in Economics from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. He is a graduate of Harvard University’s executive program in adaptive leadership and holds a designation as a Human Capital Strategist, from the Human Capital Institute. He has been a national board member for the CHRO Institute of the Association of American Universities (AAU), and a member of the national public policy committee for CUPA-HR.

Scott’s research interests include organizational climate and employee motivation.
