Bryce is an experienced start-up founder/executive and internationally recognized expert on ethics, innovation and entrepreneurship. He currently serves as Entrepreneur in Residence at theDepartment of Defense’s Innovation Unit experimental, where he oversees projects leveraging AI, machine learning and IoT to drive disruptive change for the largest technology purchaser in the world. Bryce is also an independent consultant on AI policy for Google and a research associate at theUniversity of Oxford’s Internet Institute, where his work has been featured in over a dozen publications includingWired,Bloomberg, andNew Scientist.

Bryce is the co-founder of BlueOak Resources, a technology start-up backed by top tier investors (Kleiner Perkins, Waste Management) working to recover high value metals from electronic waste, the world’s fastest growing waste stream. As a senior executive and board member, Bryce was directly responsible for fundraising, business strategy, and all aspects of technology development on a first of its kind$50m facility in Osceola, Arkansas. In addition, Bryce was an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Angel Forum, Silicon Valley's oldest and most prestigious group of early-stage angel investors, and Singularity University Labs.

Prior to BlueOak, Bryce co-founded Belooga Media, an education tech company that produced the #1 most downloaded education podcast on iTunes in 2009, worked for the X PRIZE Foundation, was a Research Associate at University of Oxford’s Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics and directed "A Line in the Sand", a documentary about the post-9/11 militarization of the US-Mexico border. He has received numerous honors including Harvard Business School’s Best New Venture award (2011), Forbes’ “30 under 30: Energy & Industry” (2014) and World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneer (2016). He is a graduate of the University of Oxford (Clarendon Scholar), Deep Springs College and Singularity University.
