Chris is a designer, and product and business innovator. He has worked across brands, innovation consulting, and venture communities over the past 20 years. He has a focus on consumer, health and wellness experiences. His point of view has been shaped by time at IDEO through the lens of inspirational people, the innovation process, content, and client challenges. Recently, he has taken several new ventures through formation and fund raising, and is inspired by the intersection of health, wellness, and consumer ideas. Chris has recently consulted and advised major brands on new business ventures, innovation strategy, and product design.He operated as a product, design and innovation executive most recently at TRX Training. Prior to that, Chris was an associate partner at IDEO.
Over a 14 year career there, he pioneered the human factors and user research disciplines in the design industry; launched many 'first of their categories' like Tivo and Handspring; innovated for big brands like BMW, Medtronic, Pfizer, and Walmart; established new IDEO locations in Boulder + Munich; founded the Health + Wellness practice; created fundamental content around behavior change; and incubated a number of successfully venture backed companies. Chris received a degree in Human Factors from Tufts University, and a masters degree in business from the Stanford GSB. When not meeting with clients, entrepreneurs and collaborators over a coffee, Chris lives in Redwood City, married to Tamsinn, an artist and interior designer, is a father to two girls, avid cyclist on the roads of California, cyclocross racer anywhere there are mud and cowbells, and a Naish kitesurfing ambassador anywhere there is wind.
